Abstract

This work presents the advances in the design and construction in the experimental phase of a data collection device for test factors of alkaline batteries in normal operating conditions called eCProbe Lab. Its development is part of the work plan of a study to determine the Correlation between environmental and geographical factors and the expiration date of AAA, AA, C, D and 9V primary alkaline batteries in battery distribution centers in Panama. The results show that there has been 100% progress in the specification and design phase and 60% in the construction of the eCProbe Lab. A 60-day work plan was used (extended to 120 days due to delays in compliance logistics of work plan) that comprised the stages of design specifications, modeling, electrical simulation, construction and assembly and testing. The results obtained show that the method, specifications, design and construction methods have been complied with according to the proposed plan, except for the extension of time made by logistical problems.
