Copyright Policy

Research and Critical Thinking Journal (IPC)

1. Copyright Ownership

Authors retain the copyright to the works published in the Research and Critical Thinking Journal (IPC).

Publication of a manuscript in IPC does not imply the transfer of copyright ownership to the journal or to the Santa María La Antigua Catholic University (USMA).

Authors authorize the journal, through a non-exclusive license, to publish, preserve, disseminate, and index the official version of the article in various scientific information systems and open access platforms.

2. Publication License

All articles published in IPC are distributed under the following license:

Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0).

This license allows anyone to:

copy and redistribute the work in any medium or format;

Adapt, transform, and create derivative works;

provided that:

authorship and the original source of publication are properly acknowledged;

the material is not used for commercial purposes;

any derivative work is distributed under the same license.

3. Reuse of Content

Content published in IPC may be copied, used, distributed, publicly communicated, and reused for academic, scientific, and educational purposes, provided that:

authorship is properly cited;
the original publication in the Revista Investigación y Pensamiento Crítico (IPC) is indicated;
the corresponding bibliographic reference is included;
the article's DOI is included, when available;
the content is not used for commercial purposes;
derivative works are shared under the same CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license.

4. Authors' Rights

Authors retain the right to:

reuse their work in whole or in part in future publications;
incorporate the article into books, theses, or compilations;
Share the article in institutional, thematic, or personal repositories;
disseminate it through academic networks and scientific platforms;
use it for teaching and research purposes.

In all cases, the original publication in IPC must be cited.

5. Self-Archiving

IPC actively promotes self-archiving of published articles as a mechanism to increase the visibility, dissemination, and impact of scientific output.

Authors may deposit the postprint version (version accepted for publication) and the final version published by the journal in:

institutional repositories;
thematic repositories;
academic portals;
scientific networks;
personal websites;
other open access systems.

It is recommended to always include the complete bibliographic reference and the DOI of the article, when applicable.

6. Responsibility for Content

Authors guarantee that:

they possess the necessary rights to the submitted work;
the manuscript is original;
it does not infringe the intellectual property rights of third parties;

They have the necessary authorizations to use images, tables, figures, or other copyrighted materials.

The authors will assume responsibility for any claims related to the intellectual property of the published content.

7. Preservation and Dissemination

The journal may preserve, reproduce, and disseminate published articles through digital preservation systems, databases, bibliographic indexes, repositories, and scientific information platforms, always respecting the authors' copyright and the terms of the Creative Commons license adopted by the journal.
