Research and Critical Thinking Journal (IPC)

1. Objective

The Research and Critical Thinking Journal (IPC) is committed to the preservation, availability, and permanent accessibility of the scientific content it publishes.

This policy aims to establish the measures adopted by the journal to guarantee the long-term preservation of articles, metadata, and other digital resources, ensuring their continuous availability to the national and international academic community.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all content published by the journal, including:

scientific articles;
editorials;
reviews;
full issues;
metadata;
supplementary files;
persistent identifiers (DOIs);

other digital resources associated with each publication.

3. Institutional Commitment

IPC adopts technical and organizational measures designed to preserve the scientific record of published research.

The journal strives to ensure that its content remains accessible, complete, and retrievable over time, even in the event of technological failures or changes in the IT infrastructure.

4. Digital Preservation Strategies

To guarantee the preservation of published content, IPC implements, among others, the following strategies:

secure storage of digital files;
regular backups of the editorial platform;
preservation of the database and published files;
maintenance of the technological infrastructure used by the journal;
updating the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform as needed;
preservation of the metadata associated with each publication.

5. Backups

The journal performs regular backups of:

the database;
article files;
supplementary documents;
editorial metadata;
the platform configuration.

These backups allow for the recovery of information in the event of technical incidents, infrastructure failures, or accidental data loss.

6. Permanent Identification

Articles published by IPC receive a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), registered through Crossref, which facilitates their location, citation, and permanent access, even if the platform's web addresses change.

7. Interoperability

The journal promotes the preservation and dissemination of its content through international interoperability standards.

To this end, the platform maintains mechanisms that allow the collection and exchange of metadata with databases, bibliographic indexes, institutional repositories, and other scientific information systems.
